ROBERT A. AMEY COMPANY EXPANDS IN
DATA/VOICE
MARKET – JAY POE TO LEAD EFFORT
PORTLAND,
OR, JUNE 30, 2006 – The Robert A. Amey Company announced that it will be
expanding efforts to market products targeted at the expanding data/voice/video
market. To spearhead this new effort,
the company has hired Jay Poe, previously the data/com sales manager for Platt
Electric Supply.
This
effort, while already underway, is a result of the continuing move of
traditional electrical contractors to the low voltage market. Amey Company President Jim Amey remarked
“many of the same contractors we work with daily are being asked to complete
data and voice installations. They
aren’t sure where to turn for help in product selection or installation.” Many products Amey Company markets currently
are sold into this growing market. The
company intends to expand their product offering for this market segment to
provide a single source solution for distributor partners as well as end user
installers.
Leading
this initiative for the Amey Company is industry veteran Jay Poe. Mr. Poe has significant electrical channel
exposure and data/voice/video experience with Graybar Electric as well as with
Platt. When asked about the keys to
this new effort, Mr. Poe said “Our early focus will be on education and
training for our internal staff, our distributors, and most important,
electrical contractors making the move to the data/com market. We also plan to work with key specification
influences.” Mr. Poe is a graduate of
the University of Oregon with a degree in Finance and a minor in
Marketing. He enjoys “all outdoors” including
golf & skiing.
